aquarium and cash register

We visited the aquarium on Wednesday. It was five-dollar-local day, so we played the local card and thoroughly enjoyed our five-dollars worth.

We got to see the female California sea lions do some tricks at feeding time.
Isaac tried on an old diving helmet.
Passages of the Deep - the sharks
We even got to touch some starfish!
But Isaac's very favorite part was the kids' fish shop. He really wanted to run the cash register and didn't want to give it up. This whole week he has definitely showed he is not great at sharing yet, and we need to keep working on that. Luckily London was more easily redirected to the job of weighing the fish for people.

Finally, a chance at the cash register.

Watering Nana's garden

Happy birthday Boompa!

Boompa's birthday was the 25th! London and Nana were very sick that day, but luckily, Boompa was not!

We love you Boompa!

Happy birthday Grandpa Wally!

Happy birthday Grandpa Wally! You are our favorite great-grandpa in these parts!

Isaac was so happy to see his buddy Grandpa Wally. I would have been more timely in posting this (Grandpa Wally's birthday was actually the 23rd), but several people got the stomach flu just two days after this, including Grandma and Grandpa (and London and Nana). Also, Sonia wasn't feeling too hot and didn't want to be put down that whole day. Needless to say, I didn't really have time to get on the computer. We keep getting sick though - hopefully we will be over it soon so we can spend more time with Grandpa Wally this week.

Cape Perpetua

We hiked Cape Perpetua last Saturday!

We saw some interesting trees too.

Isaac said these were the holes where the animals lived, among the roots of the tree.

Some nice passerby took a picture of the whole group, although you can't see Sonia here.

The classic view from Cape Perpetua
A little snack at the top

It turned out to be a beautiful day. The weather was just perfect for hiking! Isaac hiked the whole way by himself, despite being sick just the day before.

fro up

Isaac was not feeling good Friday morning. He said, "Mama, my tummy hurts," a bunch of times. Usually when he says this it means he has to go to the bathroom. But this time, it wasn't helping to send him to the bathroom. I brought him to preschool anyway, then dropped Sonia off at daycare. When I had been at work only one hour, I got a call from his preschool that he had thrown up! Poor little guy! Luckily it wasn't a "real" work day, so I was easily able to drop everything and get him right away, then stay home with him.

I was so glad I had daycare - we just had Sonia stay there all day, and luckily she has not come down with any throw up bug yet (knock on wood). Isaac slept three times during the day, which is unusual for him. He didn't throw up again though. He was really wanting to go to Newport to Nana's, but we went on a short trip to Fred Meyer in the car, and that wore him out. So, we stayed home that night and just went the next morning instead, when he was feeling all the way better.

spring

Happy Spring!

Isaac has been pushing Sonia around the kitchen and entryway in her Bumbo seat. That seat is getting a lot of use.
Also...Isaac is definitely doing more "forced" smiles for the camera. I mean, he wants to smile. It just comes out looking unnatural sometimes. Just a stage and maybe a side effect of not having enough time to take hundreds of pictures during the day.
We took a nice walk on St. Patrick's day. It was an adventure through the neighborhood. We found lots of beautiful flowers and went down some streets I had never been down before. It's always interesting to see what there is right here in Eugene!

Isaac wanted a picture of this straight line of trees. Remember how, way back, I said Isaac would be a gardener/lawn maintenance guy if his interests at just a few months predicted his future job? Yeah, he still likes lawn equipment and trees. So we will see. :)
 Bluebells!
Oh, and those tiny daffodils. They are so cute. Daffodils were the main flower Papa and I had at our wedding. So, every spring they remind me of our wedding flowers. In just a week, it will be our 5-year anniversary. I don't know how that happened so fast! Here we are, one master's degree and two babies later....

Sonia came on our walk too. She likes the backpack so much, she fell right asleep.
We are on spring break now for two weeks! At least, I have two weeks off. Isaac has a week off plus Monday, but of course, it is just preschool. There's no pressure if we want some extra time off or at least to make those days shorter. I was hoping to get out in the garden today but have so much paperwork left to do at work, that it might turn out to be an office day. Well, at least we can have a later start this morning. Both the babes are still sleeping... Maybe if it does get nice I will sneak over to the garden - at least to finish transplanting my strawberries to their new location..
